Viscosity

A liquid’s degree of thoughness. Viscid lacquer is called highly viscous; inviscid lacquer is termed as low viscous. For measurement, a so-called viscometer is used. A flow cup is the most suitable one for consumers. Unless otherwise stated, information regarding consistency which is provided by German manufacturers refers to flow cups according to DIN 53211 with a nuzzle diameter of 4 mm. Information refers to the time in seconds that is needed to emptying the flow cup completely at 23 °C. Temperature fluctuations may cause important variations in the measured values.
