Cross hatch

(According to DIN EN ISO 2409)

This testing methodology is the most common method for testing the adhesive strength of a lacquer film. The lacquer surface is scratched at right angles several times yielding a quadratic pattern. A clear adhesive tape is affixed on the pattern and subsequently removed. Depending on the condition, one distinguishes between cross hatch values from 0 (excellent adhesive strength) to 5 (very poor adhesive strength).
